The two nordlights were born in the golden autum: Karsten on
6th and Matthias on 8th of october 1977 in Schwerin.
The two gone their own way for seventeen years. Nursery-school,
school, education etc. Karsten started his interest with fifteen
years (in the puberty) for dance and clubculture. He buyed
vinyls and started with gigs in clubs. For the next time in
smaller teenage-clubs and so it increased more and more to big
events. So the classical way of music carrer. Similar the same
way of Matthias – only one or two days later. Because of the
fact, that both of them live in the same city, it didn´t prevent
that they known themselves. They made any wondrous Dj-gigs
together and nevertheless they gone in such wise their own ways,
which was certainly conditional by the music. While Mathias
prefered a harder style of music (Trance, Hardtrance) and made
himself a name as eMKee in the north of germany , concentrated
Karsten himself on Mainstream- and that by the way on the best
events in the north and east of Germany.
After some time Mathias and Karsten quickly became clear, that
the gigs can´t be everything. Both of them began with the music
producing themselves. Although still not together but with the
help of third.
Karsten worked together with Mio Mont and Tory Kay and so the
first single „Tory Kay meets Donkey Doo“- Welcome to the
Jobparade - the official Hymn for the Jobparade in Schwerin, was
made. Also the next single followed: „Sunrise @ home“. In this
time Karsten and Mathias worked togteher with Alex Megane and
Thomas Jahnke – two very talented music-freaks. Because of this
co-operation started the act „Cosmic Culture“. Unfortunately,
this co-operation was terminated by a serious traffic-accident
of Alex and Thomas. Thomas didn´t survive the accident. The „Cosmic
Culture“-Project was initially continued by Karsten and Alex. It
arised the single „Time of your Life“ – in remembrance of Thomas
Jahnke. Until then, it was the most successful single. Cause of
the difficult co-operation, which proved more and more difficult
because of the spatial segregation and countless kilometer
terminated also this co-operation.
No question, what stayed: Matthias and Karsten produce music
together. With „why can´t we see” comes now the debut of the
project “DuKa-Productions”.
